Cost: $40.00 (+tax and service fee)
Have you ever wanted to try Boudoir photography as either a model or photographer, but weren't sure where to start? This workshop will give you the chance to try it out in a safe, collaborative, and inclusive environment. We'll provide the cameras, lighting, professional photo studio, and basic instruction. No past experience or equipment required!
Because of the unique, personal nature of Boudoir photography, we think it’s important for all participants to experience it from both sides of the camera. That’s right: each participant will take a turn as a model AND a photographer. This fosters a better understanding of the dynamic between model and photographer, and will ultimately help you be better at your preferred role (or discover that you love both). Trust us: it’s fun!
All participants will choose whether or not to share their modeling photos with their photographer (or anyone else). You can rest assured that no photos from this workshop will be published online without your express written consent.
Do you have questions about the workshop? See FAQs below, and feel free to reach out to us using the contact page here.

FAQs:
Do I need to have a partner? If I am a model, do I need to sign up with a photographer (or vice versa)?
Nope! Because everyone will be taking turns as models and photographers and shooting will be done “round robin,” anybody can sign up, and everyone will be able to participate.
I am a photographer. Do I REALLY have to model?!
Yes! We understand that modeling can feel a little scary or vulnerable. However, we strive to make the environment safe and welcoming for all, so that the experience can be fun and valuable for you. We think that having the experience as a model gives you a better understanding of what the experience is like for the people you photograph—which, ultimately, will make you a better photographer.
When I model, do I have to wear something revealing?
No, you do NOT have to wear anything revealing. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident! If you DO want to wear something revealing, you are welcome to, as long as “bottoms” (genitals) are covered at all times.
I am a model. Do I REALLY have to take photos?!
Yes! We understand that not everyone is interested in learning the ropes of photography. However, we focus on the basics to make it easy for all participants to give it a try. We think that having the experience as a photographer helps you understand what makes a good photo, which can benefit you as you model.
Is the space wheel-chair accessible?
Yes. The venu (Madison Photography Studio) is wheelchair accessible.
Are there going to be further workshops for more experienced models and photographers?
Yes, that is the goal. Try Boudoir Workshop 2 is in the planning stages. Its focus will be for more experienced photographers and models.

I heard about the possibility of a Boudoir Open Studio. What is that?
Try Boudoir Workshop 1 & 2 are intended as the foundation for an ongoing “Boudoir Open Studio”. The Workshops serve to establish the rules, processes, and procedures for the safety and security of all participants prior to a more free form Open Studio. Only participants who complete Workshop 1, Workshop 2, or both will be able to participate in Open Studio (models and photographers). Again, this is for the privacy and safety of all participants. The goal is to provide regular studio access at an affordable price, photography and lighting equipment available, and a pool of photographers and models available to collaborate with.
